What are the chances a toe would have to be amputated because of a real bad in-grown nail?

Ummm...zero. They don't do that. Just go to the doctor and they will do a simple procedure to get rid of it. I had it about a year ago. It only took about 20 minutes. What are the chances a toe would have to be amputated because of a real bad in-grown nail?
Only if it caused an untreatable infection with staph or some other unusual bacteria - but it would have to be gangrenous to even consider amputation. Don't stress - just go get it looked at by a podiatrist. What are the chances a toe would have to be amputated because of a real bad in-grown nail?
Ah I KNOW the answer to this!!! Having my firend very recently gone through the same thing, as I did several years ago. You can have several infections, or in grown nails of the toe... They will freeze the toe, and remove either the entire toe nail, or just the outer sides. Its uncomfortable, but not really painful. I was driving home myself after the procedure,.. done in clinic The only way they would consider amputation is if there is NO blood flow, or living connection to the toe from the foot. You would have been put on many anti biotics long previous to this happening. It may take some time for the toe to grow back, but in a majority of cases, all is well from there on in. You can rest assured you will have ten toes! Good Luck :)
They would remove the nail, they WOULDNT amputate the toe
you shouldnt get your toe amputated just go to the doctor and have them like remove your ingrown and it will be all good trust me on this one just talk to a doctor
