Anthropologically, nails are flat claws and evolved as tools and protection for our fingers. They are a modified form of hair made of the same stuff as hair, keratin.Whats the point in finger and toe nails?

The protect the flesh udnerneath your toes and finegrs. The flesh udnerneath them bleedes easily.
Did you know that your fingernails and toenails are made out of dead bone structure. Its all of the dead bone marrow and cartilidge.
underneath your toenails are really soft. All you have to pertect it is your nail. So you need to strenghthen them.
