Well just because you don't cut them doesn't mean you don't file them. But I would say they would do the same thing as your fingernails. They would eventually get too long and start to curl under and be all funky looking, I would also have to say you would get major ingrown toe nails and it would hurt A LOT. You might even die from it, I'll have to look that part up thou. It's a possibility.If you didn't cut your toe nails ever what would happen ?

You'd get ingrowing toenails, be in a lot of pain, and end up having them removed.
They would grow long, thicken up...and probably curl under....yuck and ouch..don't know how you could even walk..!! lol
They would grow long and you wouldn't be able to wear your shoes.
Your shoes wouldnt fit and your socks would be fecked
Lol well im pretty sure you would get fungus and they would just continue to grow. I seen it before on ';riply's believe it or not'; in the lady was coo wit it.
Well if you never cut ur toe nails then they would probably just grow really long but i wouldnt know b|c i cut mine very often.

wll, they will just keep growing longer and longer. If you did not maintain them well, they will start to stink from the built-up of dirts stuck to your nails

you cut your toenails outside, thats sick if you do it inside. or you can jus go get them done, it like 12 bucks and they passage ur feet and clean it reallllllly well! i really recommend that for like once a month!Where do you cut your toe nails?

My cat is the same way but has 6 toes on each foot! If the nail is growing into the pad, it is best to take him into the vet to have it cut. It is not that expensive (a few dollars) and they can cut it. To cut it yourself, you would need the nail clippers that look like scissors with a ';hook'; on the end. The scissors will cost you more than paying to have the nail cut. Once it it cut, keep cutting it on a regular basis so it doesn't grow into the pad again.I have a kitty. He is a polydactyl. You do have to get the cat to the vet, especially where it sounds like he runs and hides a lot. I use clippers especially designed for cats nails but then again I have a good cat and she doesn't mind me doing them. You can use regular human nail clippers but they have a tendancy to split the nail a bit, unless they are sharp. A cats nails should be cut at least once a month front and back.

You should take the cat to the vet because the cat may have the nail removed permanently to keep your cat from any foot infections or any other problems that may come up.
Do NOT give meds to your cat without talking to your vet first. Animals react differently to medicines.





You need to clip the nail and pull it out of the pad. I would have a vet do this because your cat will probably need antibiotics...due to the fact it is going to have an open wound on its foot (which is in contact with dirt, kitty litter, bacteria, etc...)
you can give baby benedryl to the kitty-2 hours before trimming the nail if your cat weighs 10 lbs then give 10 mg of benedryl----to relax the kitty





then use baby nail -clipper to trim the nail
If this is a recurrent problem, you may want to discuss surgical removal of that nail with your vet. Even if you do not want to entirely declaw your cat, this may be less stressful than having that one grow in all the time.

Infected toe at the side of nail.?

There was abit of nail at the side of my toe so I bit it off which kind of hurt when I pullef it out. Now my toe has gone quite red, inflamed, and abit of gunge, throbs and hurts! What is up with it? is it serious what to do?Infected toe at the side of nail.?
you have a minior staph infection probably.


soak the foot in a solution of warm water and epsom salts for twenty minutes every day, apply neosporin and a bandage, and keep it covered until it is fully healed.Infected toe at the side of nail.?
Drain any infection with a sterile tool (needle) and then cleanse morning and night with hydrogen peroxide then iodine. Try to keep the toe as clean and dry as possible. If it is not better in a day or two, I suggest contacting your doctor.
Sounds like an ingrown toenail, try to keep it clean and cover it for a day or two, if there is no improvement go and see your GP you may have to have the nail removed, dont worry it will grow back I have had the procedure done twice on both big toes and the good news is you will probably never get it again after.

Yep it's probably infected. I would soak it in a mixture of epsom salt and water. Call your doc and ask what else you can do. If you see any red streaks coming from the infection sight or going up your leg you better call the doc immediately and head to the ER. It would mean there's an infection in your blood and can be quite serious

anyway I think you have a minor infection, and as someone previously has said, the best thing is keeping it clean, and regular soaking in salt water( use lots of salt in the water, and normal salt will do). but you must keep checking the redness surrounding it, because if it spreads then that is an indication the the infection is spreading and you must go to the docs right away. mind you a visit to the minor injuries clinic at your local hospital wouldn't be a bad thing at this stage.Hope it clears soon
If it doesn't clear up by itself, you may still have an ingrowing splinter of your toenail. Something I am particularly prone to. I used to visit the doctor to have a sliver of the nail removed but now do it myself.
